The Story
The Fortius Reserva from Valcarlos winery in the Navarra DO area of Spain, is a 50-50 blend of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 12 months in a mix of American and French oak barrels. Clean, bright, medium deep depth, cherry red developing to maroon in the glass. The nose is complex and intense, marked by bottle ageing notes, wood, spices, and dried fruits integrated with ripe fruit notes. On the palate it is elegant, well-structured, and balanced with good acidity. Finishes with pleasant notes of dried fruits.
